Preparing yourself for College
CIE/USA DFW chapter
Youth Program cordially invites your kids of 9th to 12th grade to be part of yet another
wonderful networking and learning experience on June 10,
2006 at U. T. Dallas.
This year’s Junior
Leadership Program is sponsored by CIE-DFW Youth Program, CYLC (Chinese Youth Leadership Club),
OCA (Organization of Chinese American), and co-sponsored
by Dallas
County Community College District (DCCCD) and UTD, The School of Management.
The program features 3
interactive lecture sessions and a final panel
discussion. This leadership program will focus primarily on preparing yourself for college,
covering the subjects of the importance
of your
image and interview skills, the basic financial concepts for
college-to-be, and
nuts and bolts of public speaking.
We have invited three outstanding lecturers for the program, Image Specialist Ms. Cathrine
Hatcher, Senior VP of the Retail
Sector of Citi Cards Mr. William Chi Tong, and 2003 World Champion of Public Speaking Mr.
Jim Key. The panel discussion will be lead by Alex Lo from UT Austin.
Ms. Cathrine Hatcher is an Image Specialist and owner of
Persōnas Image Dynamics. Cathrine
works with individuals and companies who want to offer their customers and/or
sales associates top-notch training that leads to improving outward appearance,
inner presence and the ability to communicate effectively. Cathrine is a graduate of the London Image
Institute and a certified Image Consultant, for 21 years, she has prepared numerous celebrities for
on-camera appearances including: Steven
Speilberg, Tom Hanks, Jay Leno, Matt Damon, CEO’s of Radio Shack, Kimberly
Clark and EDS … just to name a few. Cathrine is the author of “Image
Matters…Creating a Successful Image” Audio CD.
Mr. William Chi Tong joined Citigroup in 1995, and is
a senior vice president of the Retail Sector of Citi Cards. In this role, he is responsible for business
initiatives including product development, project management, and partner
business integration. Mr. Tong is an active community volunteer and a leader of
diversity initiatives. Mr. Tong is currently the
President and Board member of OCA-DFW, a national organization embracing the hopes and aspirations of
Asian Pacific Americans.
Mr. Jim Key is a difference maker. He believes in passionately pursuing
excellence, without reservation, and in enabling others to do likewise. This passion enabled and drove him to become
an award-winning speaker. Reaching the
finals of the World Championships of Public Speaking an unprecedented three
consecutive times, Jim set an unparalleled mark for continued presentation
excellence on his way to becoming the 2003 World Champion of Public Speaking.
Though Jim speaks to
a variety of audiences, he always speaks from the heart. His presentations include examples to which
everyone can relate. He blends humor with messages of gravitas to produce
programs that yield results. Jim is going to share with participants the tips of public speaking.
